VA: Tips for a Stellar Calendar Invite

Whether you are using Google Calendar, Outlook, or some mystery scheduler inbetween, the key to a good calendar invitation is acting like you know absolutely nothing about anything. I know, I know, it sounds counter intuitive. But how many times has your client gone “….who is this person I’m meeting with in 10 mins?” only to panic because you’ve scheduled with so many people that there is simply no WAY for you to remember everyone on their own. One big thing when taking over an executive’s calendar is trust. Most of the interactions with scheduling will take place with you, and it’s your job to make every meeting as clear and simple as possible. Lets take a look at a standard calendar invite that could use some extra love:

An ideal calendar invitation will have all the information for both parties - enough that if someone else from the organization had to take the call in place of your client, they could do so without needing time to play catch up on what is going on.
